Description

Index of obituaries and death notices published in Newton, Kansas newspapers beginning in 1872. 

The Newton Public Library in Newton, Kansas, houses microfilm from the daily Newton newspapers from August 22, 1872, to present. In its earliest days, the newspaper was called The Evening Kansan-Republican. On March 1, 1952, the name changed to its current name The Newton Kansan.


This index to obituaries, death notices, and death news items is an aid for researchers. The index directs the researcher to the newspaper issue and page where notices may be read and printed or digitally saved, using the Library’s microfilm reader/printer.
